Inference on a New Lifetime Distribution under Progressive Type II Censoring for a Parallel-Series Structure

A new lifetime distribution, called exponential doubly Poisson is proposed with decreasing, increasing, and upside-down bathtub-shaped hazard rates. One of the reasons for introducing distribution that it can describe failure time a system connected in form parallel-series structure. Some properties are addressed. Four methods estimation involved parameters considered based on progressively type II censored data. These maximum likelihood, moments, least squares, weighted squares estimations. Through an extensive numerical simulation, performance compared average mean squared errors absolute relative biases estimates. Two real datasets used to compare some other well-known distributions. The comparison indicates better than distributions match data provided.
